A tyrant in and amongst us......

Its a Mistake to think this Fault

[tyranny] is proper only to Monarchies;

Other Forms of Government are liable to it,

as well as that.

For where-ever the Power

that is put in any hands for

the Government of the People, and

the Preservation of their Properties,

is applied to other ends, and

made use of to impoverish,

harass, or subdue them to

the Arbitrary and Irregular Commands of

those that have it:

There it presently becomes Tyranny,

True generosity consists precisely

in fighting to destroy

False charity constrains

True generosity lies in striving

so that these hands —

they become human hands

transform the world.

Quote of the day...

The courts are not bound by mere forms,

nor are they to be misled by mere pretenses.

They are at liberty —

indeed, are under a solemn duty —

to look at the substance of things,

whenever they enter upon the inquiry

whether the legislature has transcended

the limits of its authority.

If therefore, a statute

purporting to have been enacted

to protect the public health,

the public morals, or the public safety,

has no real or substantial relation

to those objects, or

is a palpable invasion of rights secured by

the fundamental law,

it is the duty of the courts to so adjudge, and

thereby give effect to the Constitution.

A year later, in October, 2003,
Arar was released without charges. …
Imad Moustapha, the Syrian Ambassador

that his country had found no links between
Arar and terrorism. Arar, it turned out,
had been sent to Syria on orders from
the U.S. government, under a secretive
program known as “extraordinary rendition.”
This program had been devised as
a means of extraditing terrorism suspects
from one foreign state to another for
interrogation and prosecution.
Critics contend that the unstated purpose of
such renditions is to subject the suspects to
aggressive methods of persuasion
that are illegal in America—including torture.

Lyrics:

Old pirates, yes, they rob I;

Sold I to the merchant ships,

Minutes after they took I

From the bottomless pit.

But my hand was made strong

By the hand of the Almighty.

We forward in this generation

Triumphantly.

Won’t you help to sing

These songs of freedom?

‘Cause all I ever have:

Redemption songs,

Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;

None but ourselves can free our minds.

Have no fear for atomic energy,

‘Cause none of them can stop the time.

How long shall they kill our prophets,

While we stand aside and look? Ooh!

Some say it’s just a part of it:

We’ve got to fulfill the Book.

Won’t you help to sing

These songs of freedom?

‘Cause all I ever have:

Redemption songs,

Redemption songs,

Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;

None but ourselves can free our mind.

Wo! Have no fear for atomic energy,

‘Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time.

How long shall they kill our prophets,

While we stand aside and look?

Yes, some say it’s just a part of it:

We’ve got to fulfill the book.

Won’t you have to sing

These songs of freedom? –

‘Cause all I ever had:

Redemption songs –

All I ever had:

Redemption songs:

These songs of freedom,

Quote of the day.....

Especially in false moralistic societies,

where religious bigotry is on the helm,

which is world over,

the moral sanctimony is so cruel,

it instead breeds evil,

which says who is next than humanity or compassion

which is embedded in forgiving and

while there are no apparent sanctions

for one's short coming,

a person will have room to muster enough courage and

call up on humility ,

which in turn paves a path for virtue to admitting to

ones folly and short coming ,

since there is no judgement and consequently

one does not have fear about being shamed or

face abuse from others

but a possibility to become a better human

on one's own accord.

When a society in its wisdom fails...

individual turn away inwardly fearing

their own inadequacies known to the world

that would invite abuse and judgement.

So people by and large wear masks of false niceties,

while fearing for their lives ,

conspiring against their own kind,

with out any real faith what so ever,

with a religious affiliation or with out.

__ Brian Williams.
